Communications Operability and Interoperability
By :
Alex De Mostafa
Emergency Response
agencies with small budgets have enough trouble addressing communications operability let alone interoperability. While agencies have their key frequency on a repeater, secondary channels may be still rely on the ionosphere to get distance. It is important for government administrators to realize that emergency responders in spite of size and location must have suitable wireless communications. When the decision is made to address operability, it is equally important to address interoperability. One cost effective method is to enter into an accord with adjacent municipalities to utilize the same frequencies for secondary communications; the cost of licensing, securing a repeater, and providing emergency power could be split between municipalities. This method addresses operability (bringing you up to speed) and interoperability (the ability to share frequencies). Another avenue to consider is pursuing the grant processes but this may have to be done individually by each municipality.
Gordon Vincent Associates LLC President Gordon A. Moccio is a major proponent of the “System Life-cycle Planning Model” currently being prepared by Federal Office of Emergency
Communications and believes it could standardize the process of attaining both Operability and Interoperability. “It’s one thing to have a how to do template but quite another issue to get government officials and police administrators on board with the process” Moccio believes departments having their budgets cut to the bone is a major stumbling block.
Moccio aids agencies and municipalities in drafting plans for consolidation and internal controls practices that essentially create an audit trail so departments monitor exactly where their money is going. This can provide enormous fiscal benefits to municipalities.

Crimes against others is another matter. Nobody has the right to inflict physical harm on another. Nor does anyone have the right to harm us emotionally or economically. There are degrees of damage,

Most of us commoners are well aware that VIPs (Very Important Person(s)) get far better care and treatment than we do.
Take the instance of Paris Hilton in the now notorious incident (sigh...what's new) where her family and friends were preferentially allowed to jump the queue at the jail in which she's atoning her sins so that they could see for themselves how well those orange prison stripes complimented her pale complexion; conveniently bypassing people who'd been waiting on line upwards.
Taxes, Extortion, Bullies & the Browns
By :

It is my opinion that taxes are nothing more than extortion. The income tax is especially heinous. I see no difference between the government demanding money from me and telling me if I don't pay a band of armed men will come into my house, kidnap me and throw me in a cell (or perhaps kill me if I resist), or a group of armed thugs representing a mobster organization coming into my business or home and telling me if I don't pay X amount for protection than something "terrible" might happen.
