By: nileckron

Linux is an Operating System that is based on Unix (the most anti-user friendly operating system, and the first one, which also happens to be the most stable/difficult). It is something that a programmer can one day take the source code of, and change it to his liking, improve it even, free of charge. No one paid for all the programmers out there to do free work on an operating system that would be free too. There are lots, and lots, and lots of different distributions of Linux, so many that i don't know about all of them, and new ones come out often - Mind you, they're all slightly different from one another, and have something uniquely spesific to offer its users !
