Want To Know About The Salsa Festivals Around The World

Salsa is considered to be one among the many forms of Cuban dance that are extremely popular. Actually, around the world, in places like Italy, Spain, Egypt, Brazil and Cuba, ballroom dances, such as the salsa are attracting a mass popularity among the people.

It has been proved that dancing is the highest form of communication and expression in all the arts. It has the ability to bring people together over and over in the different festivals held around the world in its name. Salsa is one among them. Here is a list of some of the salsa congresses and festivals to be held this year:

The Puerto Rico Hustle & Salsa Festival: October 15 to October 18, 2009. The festival will be held at Condado Plaza Hotel & Casino 999 Ashford Ave., San Juan, Puerto Rico. The festival will be graced by the presence of salsa superstars Billy Fajardo, Albert Torres, and coveted Tito Ortos and Tamara Livolsi (Tito & Tamara). Not to mention that Puerto Rico is the claimed home of Salsa, for the dances AfroCaribbean origins and influences.

The 4th annual China Salsa Congress: International China Salsa Championships

They promise to top the party of 2008 with the Great Wall Salsa Party 2009. This congress will be held at the Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center, 50 Liangmaqiao Road, Chaoyang District,?Beijing, China. This year offers more than 30 workshops, including one thats centered on improving dance instructors. Only 60 VIP sits are being sold, so if youre looking to get a Full Pass as a VIP, you better hurry.

Philadelphia Salsafest: This will be held at October 30 to November 1, 2009 at the Ramada Philadelphia Airport. Their roster of instructors are filled with superstars: Nuno & Vanda from Portugal, Magna Gopal from New York, Philadelphias own Eli Torres (Maya World Salsa Champion of 2009), and many others. To get a discount on passes, you have to book before September so hurry.

The 4th India International Salsa Congress 2009 & Salsa World Cup Qualifiers

August 7 to August 9, 2009. There will be more than 30 precongress parties to kick off this salsa congress held all over India: Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kolkatta, and Hyderabad. This congress has readied several comfortable and relatively cheap guesthouses for all the guests. Lourd Vijays team of instructors includes Indias own Richard Tholoor, Alex Diaz, Kaytee Namgyal, and many more.

That is just a quick rundown of a few of the festivals held around the world. On average, 3 to 4 congresses are held in different parts of the world each month. There is no month of the year that does not have a salsa fest lined up, so buckle up.

All of these festivals and congresses will be jam packed with salseros and salseras. There are likely to be workshops all day and parties till the early morning. Pace yourself and try not to be overwhelmed by the activities and festivities. Catch as much rest and sleep as you can you will soon find out that hours of everyday dancing can and will take its toll soon. Above all, dance your heart out.
