There are additional rules that each state has in place for legal professionals as well, and these must be followed in order to fully complete the NY CLE requirements. If you are an attorney that is experienced with practicing law in the state, youll need to complete only those 24 required credits, and they must be completed every two years. They not only have to be completed every two years but they also need to be reported every two years as well by the reporting deadline. If you are a practicing attorney that is newly admitted to practicing in the state, youll need to complete some additional special transitional courses. While some websites do offer those online, some of them do not, so be sure to check what is offered at what website.

The deadline for completing the required credits is the birth date of the legal professional who has taken the courses.
