Introduction to the Perfect Performance Success System

By: Carmelle Smith

The Success Process is your personal road map to creating the life of your dreams.

The Perfect Performance Success System is a visual road map or a mental picture of the steps required in order to create success. Each and every component in the process is important in order to achieve your desired success.

Here are the steps we will be covering in this series…
1. Love of the Game
2. Position
3. Game Plan
4. Play Book
5. Teamwork
6. Technique
7. Practice
8. Game Day
9. Accountability
10. Results

I will explain how they work in the next few articles. Each component revolves around you and success.

If you choose to put forth the effort then you can achieve your intended outcomes. With any one of the following components missing, your ability to produce consistent results is diminished.

Take a moment and look at the graphic found on my website…really absorb the meaning before we move on to the details about this process.

Throughout the rest of these articles you will dive into these concepts and learn to use them to create success and personal championships in your life!

Step 1: Love of the Game = Passion.

When I say "love of the game," I'm talking about your passion-the reason you do what you do. Your passion becomes part of your identity. I'm talking about who you are and what drives you.

You must feel it, and it is there even when you don't feel it. It's more than just emotion-it's the declaration you make to the world. It is as important as your name. Rain, sleet, snow, or shine, your passion is fearless and it shows up every day.

If you've seen the movie Rocky then you know how Sylvester Stallone played the part of Rocky Balboa, a boxer who had an unquenchable passion for boxing. It was the rags-to-riches story of an underdog who wasn't given a chance to succeed.

And because he was so committed and driven to achieve his goals and he never lost sight of his chosen outcome, he proved to the world that he deserved to be there. He also proved that he was a dominant force in the world of boxing.

In the Championship fight against Apollo Creed, Rocky goes toe-to-toe with the heavyweight champion. The match is intense and it is Rocky's passion that shines as he comes back punch after punch to give the Champion a run for his money.

After 15 rounds Creed is announced the winner by split decision which is a moral victory for Rocky-who stayed true to his passion. You can create the same kind of victories in your life by being persistent with your own passion and letting it lead you to success!

Step 2: Position = Awareness.

This component of the success process is where assessment comes in. You determine your individual strengths, weaknesses, and accomplishments. You identify limiting beliefs. You create a starting point. All of this allows you to measure your progress and create a new reality for yourself.

In the military, every new recruit goes through Basic Training. During this time each and every individual is taught the fundamentals of the military. They also experience a variety of evaluations, and are pushed to the limit in one area or another.

The ultimate purpose of basic training is behavioral modification. The process intends to minimize the old self while building up a new confident, disciplined, organized, decisive, and fit team player. They do this by influencing each recruit's obedience, self-discipline, loyalty, sacrifice, accountability, and responsibility.

During this time many individuals find themselves on a journey of self-discovery. They are put in situations that force awareness, which is the key to identifying what needs to be adjusted or improved. They discover inner strengths while learning valuable skills. These are skills that will help them push past barriers they once feared-skills that will help them accomplish tasks they never dreamed they could perform.

Upon completion every graduate is transformed. They are assigned certain responsibilities and tasks based on their evaluated performance and innate abilities. By the time they complete the training they come out knowing who they are and what they can accomplish.

By being aware in your own life, you will enhance your performance in every area. Force yourself to acknowledge and understand the path you took to become who you are today, then commit to taking the steps necessary to make the adjustments for your future.
