How To Repair Your Xbox 360

By: Matthew Stanton

How do I repair my Xbox 360? This has been one of the biggest and most searched question in the internet when console users of the Xbox 360 were plagued by the infamous red ring of death that when it appears on your screen it means your console is now broken. Many have discovered different ways, some seem to be good enough to be given a try but others are just plain absurd to be considered. The reasons why people write these kinds of things is ether their bored or just want to help.

The reason in the first place to why your Xbox 360 suddenly broke is because there was a problem with the alignment of wires which caused the red rings to appear after you have reset your console. There will appear three red light error which is caused by the GPU (graphics processing unit) coming loose. Your precious Xbox 360 will NOT work again until you fix this problem (which is very easy) and do this is by stabilizing the GPU.

In simple terms, the cooling system of the Xbox 360 was broken because of the faulty wiring and thus the unit overheated. So to fix your unit you must make sure that it is fixed inside. Many have encountered this and have taken the problem to the source, the large company called Microsoft. Because of the large amount of complaints Microsoft and so they agreed to fix the problem. But another problem occurred. The repairs would take SIX WEEKS and that would be a lot of game time wasted and the payment is almost the same price as a new unit. This was both a win and loses situations for the owners of the Xbox. Fortunately someone found an answer and gave it freely to others.

As I wrote before there are plenty of fake answers out there in the internet so you should be careful on reading what kind of procedure you try out on your Xbox 360. There many quick fix schemes out there, like the wrap your Xbox in a towel. As the name suggest you wrap your console in a towel, they say it will solve the over heating problem, but this is totally untrue and is nothing but a useless prank by someone who was bored.

The process is easy enough and is guaranteed to have 95% of a success rate. Many have tried it and they got some good results. Not much knowledge of electronics is needed when fixing and most of those who have done the repair procedure are mostly normal people with only a few know-hows concerning electronic. The procedure is that you just open up your console, take out the mother board, get some few chips out and reset them and adjust the cooling system. Easy enough to be done by almost anyone, but there is still that 5% that is left and others guarantee a 100% fix. Though it is small its still shows there is a chance your Xbox 360 repair will not be a success.
