By: Dane Fletcher

You should not go to a gym simply because another person is a member there. When you do this you will be jeopardizing your bodybuilding career. The gym you go to counts a lot as far as your body building career is concerned. There are fundamental decisions you have to make if you want to succeed in bodybuilding, one of them has to do with your diet and the other one has to do with the gym you go to. With that in mind I will highlight some of the issues you need to carefully consider before joining a particular gym.

The first issue has to do with the location of the gym. The locality of the gym matters a lot because it will determine whether you will be able to stick to your training schedule and maintain consistency. You see in bodybuilding consistency in your training program matters a lot because it determines whether or not the exercise will work for you. When you find yourself missing going to the gym because it is too far then you has a very big problem which needs to be addressed. The gym should be located somewhere near your office or place of residence.

The other issues you need to be concerned about are the price of becoming a member and how long it takes before they revise there prices. There are certain gyms where although you may join when the fee is low they increase there prices after every three months. In the end you end up paying a lot of money just to become a member. There are other gyms where they charge extra charges apart from the membership fees. Therefore you need to ask all this questions because you could end up failing to meet the membership cost and embarrass yourself in the process.

The other issue you should be concerned is about the gym policies regarding public holidays and weekends. You could be the sort of guy who likes to train in the weekend, and therefore if the gym closes on weekends you see the predicament you will have. There are many people who joined a gym and paid the membership fee which in most gyms is usually not refundable only to find out that the gym does not usually open on weekends. This is a great inconvenience on there training program.

You need to consider whether the gym has a gym instructor, because they are very helpful especially if you are a novice bodybuilder. In the sports of bodybuilding you need to ensure that you train using proper techniques and form otherwise you will seriously jeopardize your health and you could also get gym injuries. A gym instructor will show you how to use the right techniques when training and how also to use proper form so that you avoid gym injuries. A gym instructor will also show you how to know when you are overtraining and therefore you will also be able to avoid gym injuries. There are so many advantages of going to a gym which has a gym instructor.
