Employee Recognition Awards A Great Investment

By: Mary Braun

What is the backbone of a business? It is the employees that you have selected and nurtured as they have grown in their positions. You have invested a lot of time and energy in these workers and now it is time to give employee recognition awards for what they have done with what you have given them. Words are always nice but sometimes a tangible expression of the honor is the thing that people need.

An engraved crystal plaque with someones years of service can actually go a long way towards making them realize that the business they spend so much time working for is actually appreciative of what they have done and that they have stuck with it all these years. After all, it is no small feat to grow with a job and assimilate the changes that any industry or field goes through over the years.

Perhaps you want to go beyond years of service and recognize some of the individual talents that these people bring to their jobs. Is there an outstanding salesperson? An IT guy that really knows his stuff and kept your network going last year? A receptionist that contributed an idea that makes your customers feel like family when they enter your business? Any one of these is reason enough to create an award.

Now that you have a list of people and departments to recognize, it is time to select the awards. There are several choices of medium; crystal, optic crystal, art glass, marble. There are also choices to be made in theme. Do you want a traditional award, a contemporary award, or a plaque? These are some of the choices you will have to make in order to create the most meaningful award.

When you are ready for production of your choices, be sure to allow plenty of time for the customization, production, and shipping. Be sure to request a proof of what the finished product will look like. If you are on a tight schedule, then shipping options will be important to you. Your logo and text should be black and white for the etching on crystal.

When your awards arrive at the office you will need to determine the best way to distribute them. No matter how you get these awards into their recipients hands, you can bet that the employees will appreciate what you have done and will feel that you truly value them and what they have brought to your business. Is not that what everyone needs from time to time? A pat on the back is something that can not be forgotten.
