El Filibusterismo Buod

By: StubbyTime

Well, my holidays are drawing to an end and before I know it I will have to go back to work. The problem is I still haven\'t finished reading Jose Rizal\'s \"El Filibusterismo\".

Actually I\'m only halfway through the 37 chapters because I don\'t get that much time really to do any reading. My life is so busy. I have found the book absolutely brilliant however and the only time I put it down is when I fall asleep.

Usually I fall asleep quite quickly! Not because the book is boring but because I\'m so tired all the time. I\'m usually crashed out by 10 PM on the sofa!

I suppose I could just try to find a summary (or buod) of the book but I would rather try to read the whole thing. If I had the luxury of time I would definitely take plenty of it and enjoy the entire read.

Oddly enough and I\'m sure this is the same with many school texts, many of us don\'t really appreciate these kinds of books when we are at school. We only come to realise the significance and depth of novels such as this many years later having rediscovered them.

When our literary palettes have matured and we have the time to revisit those old school texts of ours oftentimes we will rediscover many interesting facets of the book which were not apparent all those years ago at school.

Anyway maybe when I have finished reading this I will be able to write my own summary or buod which might help today\'s schoolkids understand this exceptional novel.

Time and time again I have found my old school texts absolutely riveting. Whereas when I was at school I found them excruciatingly boring! Just goes to show.

It\'s no wonder some kids come out of school dumber than a box of rocks! The teachers just don\'t make this stuff interesting enough. Or maybe it\'s just the raging hormones!

Anyway I can highly recommend if you have any interest in literature at all to revisit some of your old school reading materials. You may just be pleasantly surprised.
